Part One Short answer
Answer the following questions using the lessons. All of the information is in there somewhere; its up to you to find it.
Important pay attention to the number of marks for each question and use this as a guide. If a question is worth 4 marks, then you should answer it with 4 brief, but important points referring to the question.
1) How and why was Arda created? (3 marks)

4) What does the word Calaquendi mean, and who were they? (2 marks)
5) Who created the Dwarves? (1 mark)
6) Briefly explain the Return of the Noldor. For example, who was involved? What caused it? (4 marks)
7) Where were the Sindar living during the Three Ages of Bliss? (1 mark)
8) Who was the keeper of slain Elves? (1 mark)
9) Briefly explain The Hunting of the Wolf. Give 3 points. (3 marks)
10)Who was Galadriel? Mention 2 things about her. (2 marks)
Part Two Short essay
For your final 5 marks, briefly explain one of the below events. You can use any internet resource you like (there is a list of them at the class site: http://hol_sawb.tripod.com/historyofmiddleearth). Because this question is worth 5 marks, you should make 5 points about the event, but not more. Be aware that you may not find enough information in the lessons, and thats why Im telling you to use a Tolkien internet site for more information.
